RESILIENCY

Tender offshoot dances to the wind,
Naked to the stars,
Beaten by the rain, trampled by man.
Yet, even yet and yet it defies circumstance!
Desperate to survive, it breathes on…
Days recycles to night,
Years breeds season.
In all these it stands tall and defiant.
No longer a tender offshoot,
It grazes the heaven with its branches.
A resting place for the birds, food and shelter for man.

Alas, what a twist of fate!
