RESILIENCY Tender offshoot dances to the wind, Naked to the stars,       Beaten by the rain, trampled by man. Yet, even yet and yet it defies circumstance! Desperate to survive, it breathes on… Days recycles to night, Years breeds season. In all these it stands tall and defiant. No longer a tender offshoot, It grazes the heaven with its branches. A resting place for the birds, food and shelter for man. Alas, what a twist of fate!
MOVING FORWARD I thump on, Not deterred by the whips of the rain or the anger of the sun. I march on, Not afraid of the threat of the beast or the scowls of his sons. I run on,              Certain that God is my guide and that he watches over me. I believe on, Hoping to reach my goal. Never to give up on my dreams. I pray on, Knowing he will hear my cries and lead me home. I seek on, Hopeful and passionate of the future. When tomorrow comes, I will sit with the stars and sing my song to the moon.
IGNORANCE Oh! The bells of ignorance ring hard, Staggering steps of zombies are heard in a distance, They march forward in confidence. Their eyes are blinded by lust and faith, Zealously they approach the banks of desperation. Yet, after the sacrifice of foolishness is done, Another, yet another, and another drops dead. Enlightenment is most pained by these delusions, Sanity, sanity, it cries out.
CRIES OF DESPERATION Rushing waters, silent nights… The heavens suddenly seem much closer. I stretch forth my hands to the winds, I lift up my heart to the moon. That heart is pained, broken and dejected. Solace it seeks in the quietness of the night, Downtrodden it strides quietly in the moonlight, It searches for peace in the secrecy of the night. I just gave up my love!                                    That love runs wild in the desert, Scorched by the rashness of the sun… I loved her, at least I know that now Hold my hands, don’t give it up. Reality checks: Maybe you were never meant to be together, Hope cries out Only time will tell and judge.
POLITICAL JABS Heartbeats thumping’s as loud as the drums of war Apprehension leans on the laps of the  contested The final result would soon be announced Hope bites its fingers in anticipation Then the deed is done Piercing screams are heard from a distance Dancing erupts with hips swaying left and right Clapping are heard on the corridors of hope Proud looks and boastful clattering A new surge of expectation spiced with trepidation Uncertainty and hope hug each other in familiarity Disappointment bows its head in remorse Anger and desperation spread quickly Violence may erupt             Gentle whispers are then heard Politics! Politics! Politics!
