PENITENCE

 PENITENCE

Though dark the alleys,

I will follow the light.

I will find the light,

Where darkness assay.

O dark soul of mine,

Yield all dross of thine.

Vacillate not tender;

Be firm thou slender.

My soul, my soul,

See the cross.

My heart, my heart,

Recall his pain.

For sweet porridge,

I sold him.

For dark passions,

I denied him.

Call me Judas,

Call me Esau,

Call me Demas,

Call me David.

Remember my penitence

Hagia Sophia.
